Warning! Aliens are Invading the School!
Jordan, Boy Dave and Ryan never mean to get into trouble, but somehow it just seems to follow them around…
Throw into the mix a reality TV show, an adventure camp, and a dog called Nemesis, and you have a recipe for certain disaster!
Told from Jordan’s point of view, this laugh out story is fun from start to finish, and could be a great choice for you if you like funny books.

'My name is Jordan and my mate’s name is Boy Dave (because his dad is Big Dave). To begin with I should say that none of this was our fault. I would have thought that protecting the future of all humanity was a bit more important than they made it out to be. "They" being most of the teachers at school and our parents and also some other people.
All I can say is that it wasn’t at all like a film where we would have walked in a line out of the dust to some stirring music. If it had been a film, obviously two of us would have died while we were protecting the future of all humanity and that would have been a fat, lazy one, who showed he was quite brave in the end, and also a quite good-looking one who was bad and then became good just long enough to die a hero, although we couldn’t exactly have done it like that because there were only three of us.
Somewhere out there in the universe there may be a few aliens who were a bit impressed by our attempts and this might help the future of all humanity in the long run. All I can say is that there were some members of humanity who didn’t deserve to be saved and I hope the aliens have made a note of who they were.
Most of it was Ryan’s idea. In the film he would be the weird genius who no one listens to at first and then everyone has to beg him to help them at the last minute. Boy Dave and I don’t bother with the middle bit and just listen to him first time, which in this case might have been part of the problem.
We were sitting in a boat we’d borrowed from outside the Black Horse pub. It was the last weekend of the summer holidays and it hadn’t rained for about four days. We’d done most of the things we’d planned to do, but this morning was the day for our trip on the stream. You have to get up early for this or they notice one of the boats has gone, but, being a pub, the Black Horse doesn’t open until eleven, so as long as you get the boat back by nine thirty it’s normally OK. Boy Dave and I are banned from going near the Black Horse and this was something to do with a plastic tree-climbing frame, which I can’t really remember.
Ryan doesn’t like rowing, so Boy Dave and I had the oars. That morning it was misty with lots of dragonflies whirling over the surface of the water. The swans were there too, but they’re incredibly badtempered and don’t like it if you make eye contact.
Ryan was in the middle of dissecting a dragonfly when he suddenly looked serious.
“I’ve been meaning to mention some research I’ve been doing,” he said, pushing his glasses up his nose. “It has to do with extraterrestrial beings and is probably quite important.”
Boy Dave and I looked at each other. We like Ryan but sometimes he can be a bit boring.
“It’s quite obvious that aliens exist,” he said. “Quite a lot of people have been abducted by them, especially in America. I think they mostly abduct Americans because the FBI try to hide all the attempts the aliens have made to contact planet earth.”
Boy Dave said, “All that alien stuff is boring.”
But when Ryan gets on to one of his obsessions it’s
impossible to stop him.
“That’s exactly why it’s important that people like me take an interest and try to understand the messages,” he said. “Here on earth we have examples of metal which can’t have been mined or made. There are whole spaceships which definitely haven’t come from this planet, and bodies of aliens hidden away in basements to try and pretend they don’t exist.”
“That’s just made up.” Boy Dave pushed away an overhanging branch with his oar. “Everyone knows it’s people with tinfoil hats who live in trailers and just want to get on TV.”
Ryan shook his head. “I’ve been on the Internet and there’s accounts of serious people who have actually seen them. Like ex-FBI agents who think we should know the truth.”
“How do they know they’re not just plastic models?” demanded Boy Dave. “You never see live aliens, just dead ones that all look the same.”
Ryan rattled his jar crossly. Inside was a tatty looking moth and another dragonfly who was probably absolutely terrified after what had just happened to his friend.
“Small point.” (Ryan always says this.) “If they go to all that trouble pretending
aliens don’t exist, then they’re not really going to make a plastic one and show it to someone and pretend it’s real are they?”
It was just after nine o’ clock. Andy, the landlord of the Black Horse, comes out for his first fag at quarter to ten to wait for the draymen, so we had to be getting back. Boy Dave and I paddled the boat round in a circle. The mist was lifting; it was going to be another sunny day.
Suddenly Ryan started pointing at the air. “If we don’t do something to show the aliens that someone actually takes them seriously, they’re going to come down one day, with a big alien army, and take over the planet. The future of all humanity depends on making positive contact. Negative contact will end in the complete annihilation of the human race.”
Talking of complete annihilation, we managed to get the boat back under the tarpaulin just as Andy came out wearing a pair of stripy pyjama bottoms. As we sneaked round the other side of the Black Horse and across the road Ryan said in a sinister voice, “The preparations are in hand.”'

Reviews
amazing
I think this book is very interesting and exciting. In my opinion the best two parts so far are when the three of them burned a hole in the school roof. I also liked the part where there was a fire drill at the school and they were trying to escape from Mr Jefferson. they then got stuck in a room with three men. I don't like Mr Jefferson because he is very nasty and is a bit like a bully. They are always getting into trouble with everyone especially their parents who might have to pay for all the damage if they don't take part in the film. The agetha seems like a nice person who cares a lot about other peoples feelings. However I believe that she could well be one of the aliens that are invading. I would reccomend it for children aged 5 to 14.
Very Good
I think this book is very good, it is really funny and I highly recommend it for anyone at all. I think it is one of the best books i have ever read.
I really have to say that "Warning! Aliens are Invading the School!" by Dinah Capparucci has to be the funniest and greatest book I have read so far. Every page you turn it gets funnier and funnier by the minute. Hopefully i'll be reading more of Dinah Capparucci's books and they'll be as funny as this one. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a funny story.
I picked this book because it looked like it would be interesting because it's about aliens.

the story is about three boys Jordan,Boy Dave and Ryan. The boys try not to get into trouble but they can't seem to help but get into trouble. Trouble seems to follow them whereever they go. The story is seen from Jordan's point of view. a t.v show, an adventure camp and their dog's called nemesis. It is a very funny book that makes you laugh from page one to end.
It's really fun and enjoyable.
I think aliens are invading the school is a very very good book, it can be a bit confusing in some ways but funny in the other ways. i think that if you like confusing but funny books then this book is definitely for you. I am not really the type for confusing but funny, but I do have to say I REALLY enjoyed this book.
A funny book about 3 kids who have noticed something suspicious is happening around the school. i would recommend it to anyone who likes a good laugh.

This book is very funny it has a lot about aliens this book is good for people that like aliens and cool stuff.
i like this book because i think it is creative and funny. i have not finished this book yet i'm enjoying it.
i liked it because the pictures of the aliens were good
this is such a good book, i would say mainly for people who like a cliffhanger
This is a good book, i enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend it to someone else. if I had to choose again i would defintely choose this book. I am glad I chose this book.
So far what i've read i think my book is really good. I liked the part where they were giving the teddys out!!! MY BOOK IS ACE!!!
this book is really good but i have only read up to chapter 2. up to now it is awsome.
My review is that this book is very action-packed and very interesting. I also like the characters in the book because they're very weird but in a good way. I like the front cover because it's colourful and bright.
"Warning! Aliens are Invading the School!" ia about these three friends (Jordan, the main character and a mischief maker, Boy Dave, Jordan's father's friend's son as well as Jordan's friend and a mischief maker, and Ryan, a talkative genius who drags the others into his plans to 'save the world') who are trying to save the world from 'an alien invasion' (One of Ryan's 'save the world' plans), when in reality they're just causing trouble. Other main characters include Nemesis (Jordan's pet dog), Doctor Agnetha Barns (The psychiatrist star of a reality TV show visiting Jordan, Boy Dave and Ryan's school) and Mr. Jefferson (A crazed ex-army teacher that does everything as if it were in the army).
If I were going to choose a favourite character, it would have to be Ryan, because every now and then he says something scientific and complex that his friends can't understand. As for a favourite part of the book, the whole thing was easy to read and funny, "Say no to Mr. I-have-a-least-favourite-part", because the whole thing was equally great. I would recommend this book to kids between 9 and 11 years of age, especially if they like funny books.
i think this is a good book and will recommend this book to anyone and i mean anyone and guess what it's the best book in history!!!!
Hard to get into first of all but as you read on it is good and really funny
Warning aliens are invading the school is a very interesting book. and it is a really funny book to read. i'm almost finished the book. so far it has been a really good book and i don't want to stop reading it. my friend has also said it is a really intresting book and is funny for all ages. This is my review for warning aliens are invading school.
this book is really really good and interesting and it is funny to read! :)
I love this book it jumps and turns and it takes me with it! HAHAHA
This book was written by an author named Dinah Capparruci and it is about 3 normal boys trying to stop aliens, disguised as TV presenters, from invading their school. The 3 boys' names are Boy Dave, Ryan and Jordan. I do not think that the characters in this book are very believable but the ages ranged for this book would not care whether the characters are believable or not.
My favourite character was Jordan because he is lazy and a bit mischeivous and in a way I think I can relate to him. It is not the hugest part of the book but I like the opening chapter when the 3 boys sneak into a rowing boat and go out on the lake for a bit. I like this because they are not allowed to be in the boat and I think that is a good way to explain each one of them especially as it is quite sudden and in the first few pages. The part right after the opening chapter, where Dominic gets back from rowimg, I do not like because all of it is quite boring and I didn't really enjoy it.
I would definitely recommend this book to the ages of about 9 maybe 10 and downwards but kids above that age may find it a bit childish. The [eople I would recommend this book to would be those who like a good laugh or are just in for a cool book because I think the author just intended this book for a fun read. this book was not the best for me personally because it was quite childish but all ages downwards would love it.
It was a fun, exciting and all round excellent book.
i love reading books because they are sooooooooooooo coooooool
When you look at the front cover, it does not seem like aliens are invading, but some kids think that there are aliens invading their school. One of the comedy stories and gained a funniest book prize. I would rate this book: 4 star.
I have got this book as a free one from this website and I haven't read it yet but thanks to the reviews I think I might sit down tonight and read it! Thank you ! x
This book is about a group of school kids making up stories about aliens who will invade the school so they got everyone so paranoid. I would recomend this book to year 6-9 students who love a bit of comedy.
It is not really about aliens, the bit what i have read, but i like it so far.
it was a very funny and good book. i really want the other books they were good and i recommend them to every one.
This book is a good adventurous book and it is the book i would recommend to children that like aliens. Without this book reading would not be fun, it would be very boring.
The beginning is really boring but the book gets better after that. The character's names are lame especially Boy Dave.
i think this book is epic and highly funny
I think this book is fantastic and I love it. I want to read it again.
This book is cool, but it's not really about aliens. But it's still a great book.
An interesting read. I thought that it was very funny and a suitable read for all ages. The front cover may look a little too young for you but it describes the life of high schooler and is actully really funny!!!! :)
This book seems good. It looks funny and I think i will read it. It is my type of book.
This book is the best you will ever be reading. Everyone must hate school but this book make you think back. If your school was getting invaded you surely would love to be the hero! I recommend this book for girls and boys and maybe adults and teenagers!
I think this book is amazing it is appropriate for girls and boys. Its very funny and enjoyable to read.
I love this book so very much i think it has a great sence of humour and i laugh at every word! and i love the part where they stop aliens invading the school! so i want to say how much i love this book!!!!!
Excellent
I think this is a fast paced and hilarious book. I highly recommend this book, it is a great and easy read for all ages.
