Staff briefing session
Booked Up 2008
Staff briefing session
If you are working with frontline staff to promote Booked Up you may want to consider running a staff briefing session, which should cover the following:
- provide background on Booked Up and how the project is being run
- provide a display of the books for staff to look at when talking about the project
- see if any staff have read any of the books, what they thought of them
- encourage them to read the books themselves
- bookmark the Booked Up web site (www.bookedup.org.uk) and show to staff - particularly the Your Space page.
Take this opportunity to brainstorm ideas about the opportunities this project offers you:
- who can you link up with/form a partnership with?
- what display schemes can you think of?
- what reader development techniques will you be using?
- can you link up with your local library/school?
- how can you utilise the authors' backlist?
- how can you use Booked Up as a follow-up focus for Year 7 children who have taken part in the Summer Reading Challenge's ‘Extreme Team Read'?
