Foul Play

Tom Palmer is a football fan and a writer. He never did well at school. But once he got into reading about football - in newspapers, magazines and books - he decided he wanted to be a football writer more than anything. As well as the Football Detective series, he is the author of the forthcoming Boys United series, also for Puffin Books.

Tom lives in a Yorkshire town called Todmorden with his wife and daughter. The best stadium he's visited is Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeau.

"PRIVATE DETECTIVE

Danny sat with his back to a Portakabin.

He was now right next to City Stadium, looking at the players’ entrance and a fire exit from the side of the main stand. Danny had never been this close to the door the players slipped in and out of before and after games. This was the car park – empty now – where all the Ferraris and Porsches would normally be parked.

After the chase, Danny’s body was beginning to calm down. He felt exhausted. In his legs. His lungs. His head. What had he been thinking? Tracking burglars. Being chased through the streets by a criminal at three in the morning. Nearly being caught! And losing his notebook. How had that come out of his pocket?"

FOUL PLAY
The story was about a boy called danns horte but he doesn't like any thing but football and solving crime. I give it five because it as a thriller especialls. It's like it happen in real life. My faourite part was were danny has to lotatce the famous star striker. I like this book because it's a really good mystery story. I like th way the story is full of instead of stopping to put in the boring effects.

Foul Play
Danny Hearte is on an epic journey undercover trying to solve the abduction of his favourite football legend Sam Roberts. However, Danny does not realise the consequences until he is in far too deep. Throughout this book Danny's emotions and adrenaline comes to life as each page reveals a new deadly secret for him to uncover. Adventure and secrecy take over. The anticipation to turn over the page, to reach the next chapter is overpowering. Tom Palmer creates an exciting and breathtaking atmosphere as you unfold the truth behind the characters. Wherever Danny is, trouble just seems to follow. You will never put this book down now the mystery has begun. It is an extremely enjoyable book. Both boys and girls will have an entertaining and action packed time reading this. They will get indulged in the story they are reading.
