About the author

Gaby Morgan
Read Me and Laugh

Gaby Morgan is the Editorial Director of the Macmillan Children’s Books poetry and non fiction list. She studied French at University College London and has worked in publishing since graduating. Gaby has always been a compiler - she collected quotes, lyrics and poems in her teens and still enjoys making mixed CDs. This love of collecting makes choosing poems for anthologies an absolute joy.

She has edited a number of best-selling anthologies, including Read Me: A Poem for Every Day of the Year, Fairy Poems, which was shortlisted for the 2006 CLPE Poetry Award, and Jingle Bells: Poems for Christmas.

Gaby lives in Hampshire with her husband Grant, son Jude, daughter Evie, and cats Cosmo and Angel.

Laughing out Loud

The poems in this book are hilarious. The poets are brilliant. What would make it better, if there were a few illustrations.

I think that this book of poems is a great book for laughs. The poems are absolutoley hysterical and fun. If you don't like sad or love poems these are the poems for you. Not only are they funny but the language is very imagery and you feel like you are there on the spot wacthing all of these funny scenes. Poems are very good for you, especially if they are funny because it incourages the reader to try and make a poem of their own. I am a book and poem fan so i write my own and not only does it build your self-asteem, it helps the time to slip away and writing poems can be fun. This book of poems will make your eyes pop and your face hurt for eternity these are so funny.

Laughing Already!

This book is the best poem book I have ever read! I have read millions, and yet, this is my favourite one!! Searching for your friends birthday and reading the poem out loud, is great fun!I Recommend this book to every poet and child!

Laugh Your Head-Off

'Read Me and Laugh' is one of the greatest books ever made.Ok so maybe it's not a proper reading book but its one of the greatest ever books to share. There is a poem for everyday of the year and this is the key to its success, looking up everyone's birthday poem with a group of friends is great fun. It's awesome!!!

I thought the book was very good and funny with a wide range of short poems and long ones ranging from four lines to twenty four and more!!!! What I did was read one or two a day ranging on the lenth of them but didn't read them in order and that worked quit well!!!!!!!!!!

Read Me and Laugh

This a FUN and wonderful poem for 9-12 years old. It is actually what it says on the title. But if you read it over and over again it can get boring.My favourite part was when I read my favourite Poet Roger McGough and reading my birthday. Least favourite part was some of the boring poems. This book is called 'Read Me and Laugh' selected by Gaby Morgan. This book is about funny poems that should make you laugh when your down or upset. My favourite part of this book is the poems on April because it's the month of my birthday and the poems were funny. The least favourite part was that there were too many long poems. I would recommend this book for anybody that has a funny bone in them.

If you want to get sucked into a world of twists, surprises and new poems - read this book. It has 365 poems - all new, all fresh, all waiting for you to duck your head in and visit. This book is perfect for finding a poem for your birthday or viewing your favourite poems (mine was The Timetable of a Princess). I really couldn't put it down.
